RETIREMENT for Irene & John in 2009

Many people ask "When are you two going to retire". Well, the short answer is soon - by 2009, but the big question is HOW!

Selling up or just giving up? Neither of these options are as simple as they may seem. Finding a buyer for such a modest business as ours has its attractions, but may be difficult. And GIVING UP ..... Thats not for us. We have worked too long and too hard to see CAP-NAT international just disappear.

So, we have found a strong and progressive partner in CALIFORNIA TRANSACTION with whom we can work and grow with to insure that the Good Name of CAP-NAT international will continue into the future for the benefit of our Guests, Owners and ourselves in a seamless transition over the coming months.

Meanwhile we welcome Ms. Jackye ROBIN to the CAP-NAT international team and she will be easing herself in over the coming months to progress our apartment sales and get up to speed for summer 2008, and taking over the day to day running for 2009.

HAPPY DAZE...Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

SUMMER IN THE CAP

MAY - JUNE

Suddenly it's Summertime. Somewhere between the middle and the end of May the temperatures have jumped into the high 20's. The last week in May brings the first big wave of Holiday Naturists back to Glorious Cap D'Agde. Our three weeks for the price of two is a tempting offer and we are off and running for Summer 2008. Our wonderful beach is alive and flourishing once more.

Flaming June sees the temperatures soar in to the 30's. Each day better than the one before. Mid-Summers day arrives and the long sunny days seem to stretch into infinity. The shrubs and flowers are in full bloom, everything is fresh and new for our visitors and each day sees more and more arrivals.

In our opinion, not only is this an economical time to be here, it is also the best time to be here. It's calm, the weather is beautiful, service is attentive in the shops, bars and restaurants. All is fresh and clean and there is plenty of space and time to enjoy the Naturist life to the full.

JULY - AUGUST

The first two weeks of July see a big exodus of the mid June holiday makers. Their 3 weeks for the price of two at an end.

From the middle of July through to the end of the 3rd. week of August it's High Season. The character of the resort changes. More families, a younger more vibrant crowd and a party atmosphere pervades the Naturist Quarter. Certainly the noise levels step-up a couple of notches. More people, more traffic in the NQ - cars, delivery trucks, the taking away trucks. The whole place is in full swing. If you do not book a table in your favourite restaurant then you may be up for a take-a-way or self-catering.

The Night Clubs are in top-gear, the bars are busy and late nights and even later mornings are the order of the day. Weatherwise, the summer is at its hottest, Temperatures will be in the mid 30's in the shade. Some times humid, sometimes not. Late July and early August can bring some spectacular evening storms, though not necessarily the rain. Huge sound and light shows out to sea or inland - and all for FREE.

AUGUST - SEPTEMBER

The last full week in August sounds the departure bell for the High Season revellers. The first of the 'End of Seasons Sales' signs appear in the shops. Home, school, work beckon and its time for many to go.

But it is by no means the end of of the Summer Season. The weather is still in good form and the departing holidaymakers are quickly replaced with the return of many of our early summer guests, back for a second bite of our three weeks for the price of two cherry, along with many owners of apartments and regular visitors who prefer this time of year.

After three full weeks in to September its "last orders please" as the Summer draws to a close. The life-guards on the beach have phoned home to say that they will be back soon and its time to roll up the flags, close-up the shack, and would the last person please put the lights out.

As for us? We plan to go 'snoozin', cruzin', and boozin', and in no particular order. If all goes well, then the next few weeks will be the usual Indian Summer and a time for us to enjoy a bit of the Naturist Life.

ABOUT THE CAP

The Naturist Quarter of Cap d'Agde was devolped in the early 1970's. It was built by the French for the French and for that era and the domestic market.

Since then the world has changed and the visitors to the Cap have changed. It is no longer just the domestic market, the Naturist Quarter of Cap d'Agde has become a 'Must' for Naturists across the globe.

However, the accommodation style & standard can come as a bit of a cultural shock to first time visitors. In this day and age of worldwide tourism, people have come to expect, and rightly so, much higher standards of accommodation. It is important, therefore, that we point out to prospective visitors that the Naturist Quarter should be considered as a complete change of pace.

But now there is the NATUREVA-SPA complex - see seperate page for more info. on this 3 star residence.

Accommodation is all Self-Catering, the units, even the larger ones, are small and basic. Those that are for rental (not all the accommodation here is available to rent) range between 1 & 2 star at best. Some that could be called 3 star are few and far between. There are some 4,000+ units within the NQ, all privately owned and furnished and decorated to the individual owners requirements. There are many still in there original livery from the 70's & 80's.

Air conditioning in the accommodation is scarce. Luxe, de luxe is as rare as rocking horse manure. But for all that, the NQ here in Cap d'Agde is all things to all people. It may well disapoint a few, particularly those who have been badly advised or misinformed. But, for the vast majority of first time visitors, a huge percentage will come back again and again. There really is nowhere in the world quite like the Cap d'Agde Naturist Quarter.

Indeed, a very high percentage of visitors to the Cap are repeat visitors who come back, year on year, as their main holiday or as a second holiday. A common comment is that, when they return to the Cap, it is like "coming home". We have many guests who have two stays in the Cap each year and have been doing so for more than 20 years.

We have here a huge & beautiful sandy beach. There are restaurants, bars, butchers & bakers as well as a myriad of shops and mini-markets to cover all your daily needs. We have a post office, a bank, a doctor (high season), swimming pools and night-clubs, in fact the NQ is a sizeable town in its own right.

We are often asked where do you eat or which bar do you recommend.

For us its based on Service, quality and value for money. So our choices are:

For a quick-fix then PIZZA FLORA in Port Ambonne;  Great Pizza at GHYMNOS;   For a variety menu, OASIS TROPICAL; To be by the beach then it has to be MISSISSIPPI;  For that Special Occasion, PIMENT VERT or by the pool at WAïKI BEACH.

For a good pint down the pub then it has to be the World Famous JOHNNY WOKKERS Euro Pub. You are always sure of a great welcome from Jennifer & Johnny. BIG SCREEN TV for those BIG sporting occasions not to be missed.

If you require more information on the NQ to help you make up your mind about visiting then do please e-mail us   cap-nat@wanadoo.fr   and we will be delighted to offer factual and accurate advice.
